I have been wanting to eat also and it is driving me crazy.  I am having a  hard time with temptation and eating things I shouldn't like crackers, sugar free cookies and some baked chips.  It is so nice to advice from other people who are in the same boat.  I haven't been exercising lately and I'm sure that is not helping at all.  Have a great weekend and here's to a break in the stall.    this is protein shakes of course.

I have not had an official stall, but I have had 2 weeks not connected to one another, that were 0 losses for the week.  I also know the weight loss is slowing down. At 3 months out I lost about the same amout as you did Dawn.

With both of you not having much left to lose, your body may be wondering about starving.  Have you changed up anything?  Sometimes you have to keep the body guessing.  Try changing up your eating or exercise routine.  For instance, if you usually have a shake for breakfast, or a small meal in the morning, change and make breakfast one of your bigger meals. I have read that this alone can make the body understand that you will not be starving today and it is ok to release fat stores.

When I had 0 week losses, I first changed my exercise and on the second one changed the eating pattern.  I hope this helps.

yep for about 3 weeks I am pissed! How can I not be losing. I lost the first 60 so easy I got comfortable. I need suggestions. My bday is Sunday and I am depressed enough about that now I am in a stall.

Hi Dawna,

I soooooo feel your pain. I had surgery on 11/11/08 and the first couple months were awesome. I had a few short stalls and then BAM! I have been on a stall for about 3-4 weeks and am ready to chop off a leg in order to make the number on the scale drop. It gets so discouraging and in my head that little voice that says "you are going to be the one person this doesn't work for". I hate that voice! :)

The ironic thing is the stall started when I started exercising! It sucks. I have upped my protein shakes and water and will introduce a new exercise this week to try and break this #$@# stall. I am down 70lbs today since surgery and 91lbs since October 30th but I have at minimum 87lbs to go. Hang in there-from what I am beginning to realize from the veterans on this sight, stalls are as much a variable as losing weight. Keep positive and email me if you need support. It is nice to chat with someone that is in the same stage of the journey. Keep saying "this too shall pass". Warm Regards- Nancy

It's either encouraging or very depressing to know that we all had our surgery around the same time and have all stopped losing weight at the same time.  I haven't lost an ounce the entire month of February.

I was beginning to think that I would be the only one in WLS history to NOT lose any weight!  I GAINED 12 pounds from day of surgery to my one week doctor visit.  My jaw fell to the floor!

I just couldn't seem to get off the ground loosing the pounds.  After a 4 week stall I contacted the nutritionist who analyzed my food diary and told me I was eating between 280-600 calories a day.  She said my body was in starvation mode and shutting down.  I had to eat more calories to lose weight.  That went against every grain in my body.  For once I don't feel like eating, and now I'm told I have to eat more!

Since then I've been getting in 800 a day and have started to lose some weight.  I'm relieved to see that I'm not alone in what's happening to me.  I hope the rest of you are doing well now!
